Dr. Reppy is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians with additional studies in Chelation Therapy and First Line Therapy. With more than 20 year medical experience, he is heading LifeWorks' prestigious Chelation Therapy unit as well as working in Family Practice.

Chelation Therapy

Chelation Therapy ( pronounced ke-lation ) has been used continuously since it was introduced in the 1940s, specifically to treat lead poisoning.

Chelation is an intravenous therapy with an amino acid called EDTA (Ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid) which is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). At LifeWorks Wellness Center , patients have a full medical evaluation and screening blood tests before receiving Chelation therapy.

The process involves getting the EDTA by intravenous infusion along with vitamin C, B complex, magnesium and specific homeopathic remedies to improve health. This substance binds toxic metals and removes them from the body so that they can not continue their disease causing effects.

EDTA is the most powerful antioxidant known. It decreases blood clotting and removes from the body lead, mercury, and other toxic metals. In the process of doing this, circulation is improved and oxygen levels in the tissues increase. This can lead to improvements in blood pressure, circulation, wound healing, and exercise tolerance.

Normally Dr Reppy will recommend treatments 2-3 times per week and will then re-evaluate to see if more are needed. Each treatment takes between 30-40 minutes to deliver.

First Line Therapy

Dr Reppy is a certified First Line Therapy provider. First Line Therapy is a clinically proven, doctor-supervised plan to treat the symptoms of Metabolic Syndrome, which include obesity, high blood sugar, high blood pressure and abnormal lipids. The term “First Line Therapy” originates from the guidelines of the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association who recommend it is tried as the initial treatment for these conditions.

The plan utilizes a customized diet which is tailored specifically for each individual patient and includes a medical food manufactured by Metagenics, a leader in the nutriceutical field. Frequent monitoring ensures that the weight loss that occurs comes from the appropriate body composition and not from vital tissues. Patients are able to see blood pressures, cholesterol and blood sugar drop without the need of any prescription medications.

Heavy Metal Toxicity

Current research studies are finding that many of today's diseases and health problems are linked to an over-burden of toxins in the body from exposure to heavy metals. Such things as heart disease, stroke, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure and cancer have been linked to heavy metals.

We live in a polluted environment where mercury is probably one of the best-known and one of the worst environmental poisons. It can come from many places such as leaking amalgam/silver fillings, routine vaccinations, or fish consumption.

Lead too, is prevalent in the environment with many common products containing un-safe levels, from children's toys and industrial emissions to lipsticks.

Of course, all of this just adds to the underlying problem - toxic contamination. So, if you are feeling less than 100%, this is likely a major factor and you should discuss it with Dr Reppy who is knowledgeable in environmental toxins.
